National Volunteer Week (NVW) is April 15-21, 2018. This week is set aside each year to recognize and thank volunteers around Alberta and Canada for the time and energy they contribute to causes that benefit our communities. NVW is also an opportunity to promote the benefits of volunteering to individuals and society as a whole.
The Alberta Common Ground Alliance’s (ABCGA) greatest asset is the dedication and commitment of our volunteers. Our accomplishments in preventing damage to underground utilities are the result of the fantastic work our four committees have done. Each of our volunteer committee members brings their own unique talents, knowledge and perspectives to the table and helps us better the lives of all Albertans.
We want to thank all of you for everything you have done for damage prevention in Alberta and across Canada. We are extremely proud of everything we have accomplished together and we look forward to another great year!
The ABCGA actively seeks input and participation from the broadest possible representation of ground disturbance and damage prevention stakeholders. The more voices around the table the more effectively we can prevent damage to underground infrastructure.
If you haven’t considered volunteering in one of our four working committees, we encourage you to start. We would be honoured to work with you!
Just send a quick email to admin@DigSafeAB.ca with the committee you’d like to participate in and a brief description of your experience or involvement with that committee’s focus. Or feel free to sit in on our committee meetings during next month’s Members Meeting in Red Deer on May 9.
